SANTA CRUZ – On Wednesday, 10 November 2021, the Ministry of Bereavement of the parish of the Holy Cross, 210 High Street, will meet at 10am in the Parish Administration (Pastoral Center) Building, Room 106.
To console means to try to make someone feel less sad; to condole means to grieve with someone suffering loss. Holy Cross Ministry to the Grieving offers the opportunity to condole those dealing with loss. Within a setting of prayer and scripture will share the memories of your loved one and your experience of grief.
On Thursday, 18 November 2021, a bilingual bereavement Mass will be celebrated at 6pm. Refreshments will follow in the Hall.
C.S. Lewis says that grief feels like suspense. You had thought after thought, feeling after feeling, action after action, with your loved one as their object. Now that target is gone. Through habit, “you keep on fitting an arrow to the string, then you remember and have to lay the bow down”.
All are welcome.
